This is something I should have asked my doctor but I spaced out on asking so hopefully I can get an answer here. :-) I'm getting my first lap in a week and a half and I know I'm not supposed to have Asprin for two weeks prior to the surgery. Are other painkillers like Naproxen or Advil okay to take?

I had a laparoscopy last week on tuesday. It has been my second operation (the first time I had a laprotomy). Unfortunately the first time I didnt have a specialist in endometriosis because I had no idea I had it up to the point of being admitted to hospital because of a big cyst that was pressing on my back etc hurting and I couldnt walk. I'm having a lap on june 1 and i'm scared. i know it's not major surgery (the IV scares me the most!) but i kinda just want to know what it will feel like, and how long it really takes to recover. i'm taking the following 5 days off work to recover.

i also wanted to know - how long til i can have sex? will sex actually not hurt afterwards?

i had my lap a week ago today. they found more "damage" than they thought they would: 3 cysts, a bunch of adhesions (including some on the cysts) and my bowel was adhered to the back of my uterus. i can't wait to heal up to feel what it feels like to have all of that stuff out of me ( Read more... )
